Have you heard of the “Middle Income Model”? Its what most of us here in the United States have been taught. Tell me if this sage advice sounds familiar: Learn a trade or profession, work for 25 to 30 years, then retire on an income that is less than what we were making in the peak of our career. Sounds like a winner, right? Wrong! Statistics show that this model doesn’t work, since very few people retire in self-sufficiency or prosperity. An alternative to the Middle Income Model is to become an entrepreneur and start your own small business. Although the advantages are huge, there are also disadvantages.
